Welcome to Kvaser Webinars

OVERVIEW:

Understanding how J1939 works can be complicated. Whether you’re an engineer doing ‘test and measurement’ on a truck, or a system designer doing development, it can be challenging to understand how all the aspects of SAE J1939 fit together.

In this webinar, Bryan Hennessy will give an introductory level overview of the J1939 collection of SAE standards from the SAE Truck Bus Control and Communications Committee.

Here are the topics we will cover:

• An explanation of the abstraction layer concept
• Examples of each layer
• The use of DBC files
• Diagnostics and HD-OBD
• Plus, some answers to the question ‘What’s all that other stuff on my data bus?’
